strange phone problem

ok i have never had any problems with my phone line till now ,, and its weird i have raised a fault but BT say line is ok .
for some reason my phone cannot ring out    it always receives incoming calls , but more frequently i cannot dial out ??
I have bought a new phone to eliminate the phone being the problem , the 2 phones are cordless but shouldnt make a difference .
any thoughts

Hi there,
Looks like we need to push the fault back, when are you next available for an engineer? Nothing available at the weekend I'm afraid so just weekdays 8-1 or 1-6. If you let me know here or pop it on the ticket we'll get it booked in for you.

make a appointment for the engineer any afternoon , i will make sure i am in , as long as i know when .
hopefully he will turn up
