phone number of person who left voicemail

hi all

Just discovered (1571) someone left a message for me yesterday on my landline.

It was a wrong number but the lady didn't seem to realise this - i want to ring her back to alert her that her message won't receive the intended recipient.

I thought that pressing "8" gave you the details of the person who left the message but apparently not!

I've found the plus.net guide on using your voicemail (https://www.plus.net/help/phone/call-features/) and can't seem to find any way of finding the person's details.

Can anyone help?

Try dialling 1471 , assuming no one else has called you since.

thanks - I'm aware of 1471 but unfortunately voicemail was from yesterday and phone rang this morning.

I am assuming your phone does not have CLID offering a list to scroll through?

nope. good idea but no.

EDIT (added this): implicit in your response is that there ISN'T any functionality within the voicemail service to indicate phone number who dialled you. I swear there was but maybe I'm thinking of my mobile phone.
