phone line

Hi not sure if this is the right site for this. Recently, when I pick up the phone before I dial. I don't get the usual tone. Instead I get a very very slow engaged tone. Sorry but this is the only way to descibe it. I have plugged the phone into other phone sockets but it is still the same. It is not the phone at fault.  Has this happened to anyone else?

Re: phone line

It sounds like you have a voicemail message.
Can you try dialling 1571 to see if there is a message there?

Re: phone line

Thank you so much. There was a voicemail message. Did not know that was a signal for voice mail message. I normally use my answer machine.

Re: phone line

Sorry Jim, sounds like someone didn't check their facts re the lead time there. When were you advised that?

Re: phone line

Smiley I'd generally refer to Ben as an authority on such things (hope he doesn't think I'm trying to call him out on that lol)
FYI the lead time did used to be 3 working days when we were using the old WLR2 platform.

Re: phone line

Feel free to call me out if it looks like I'm wrong 😛 the removal of voicemail from the OP's account took effect on the same day so perhaps it takes 3 working days to add and same/next working day for removal? I'm not 100% sure and I'd need to review a few accounts with different types of voicemail and removal requested over the weekend, weekdays, etc. in order to come to a known correct answer. This will take quite some time!
