landline is engaged when not in use

Hi as of Monday (27/11/23) I could not get through to my landline as it says the caller is on the phone but the phone is hung up and not in use. We tried swapping phones and re-plugging the line and still the same problem. 

So can you arrange for someone to check?

There is a service outage in the area by the looks of things. It has been raised for you so hopefully it will be fixed ASAP.
