Re: landline and broadband query

@Miriam

As I understand it you don't get voice mails for A&A - they send you an e-mail with the details and a transcript of the call. You then choose whether or not to phone back.

Re: landline and broadband query

I don't even want voicemails from people who have my mobile number.

My computer guy worked in Silicone Valley for years before returning to Scotland and set up his own busiiness, very knowledgeable and reliable too.  so far I have not contacted him about this, one thing I do know is that he dislikes PlusNet email because it's difficult to set up on my MS Outlook, but I like Outlook over and above everything else, on my IPAD I use webmail a lot just to check.

To be honest I don't even want to have any interaction with TalkTalk

Sorry what's A&A or did I miss something, been so many replies I'm losing touch LoL

@Miriam

A&A is a VOIP provider. See

https://www.aa.net.uk/voice-and-mobile/voip-information/

You only get e-mails from A&A about those people who call your landline number. A&A know nothing about your mobile.

I did sugest you lok around your TalkTlak members page to see what detail you can find. You don't need to speak to them.

Re: landline and broadband query

Without knowing my personality Brian you have been very patient with me, for that I thank you.

I did look at the TalkTalk Community discussion forum - nothing but complaints, with no resolution and limited input from TT

that's why I didn't post my question but I read through a lot of posts.

@Miriam

I'm not that behind you in the age game!!!

I was talking about looking at your TalkTalk members page and not their commmunity forum. That should contain account details and how to register as a vunerable person.

In post #39 you said

Also SOGEA is fibre broadband which in my village no one has so far as I know.

Thanks to the marketing boys & girls "fibre" can mean either Fibre - which is FTTC or Full Fibre which is FTTP.

Everything I'm about to suggest can be on online so no phone calls required.

Log in to your PN Members page and under My Account you should find the name of the product your on. This may matter.

Have a look at the following page

https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL

Can you post or attach a screen image of the results window, including the narrative, after excluding your phone number.

You may be on an ADSL service which "might" just might change things when it comes to the PSTN switch off. There is an equivilant OR product for ADSL similar to SOGEA.

Re: landline and broadband query

I'll have a look, but it wouldn't surprise me if I was ADSL as I've been with PN since 2009.

I'll have a look and get back to you

I am upstairs this afternoon at my 'proper' pc which is where Open Reach made my main connection, instead of being downstairs in my hall.  I have three handsets, one in the office, one in the conservatory and one in the hall.

I'm getting a lot of buffering this afternoon when I'm streaming the news.

I'll get back later.  In years gone by PN used to phone me to renew or upgrade, but they've not done so for a very long time, therefore it just slips my mind to think about it.

this is from the PN My Account page.
