Ive just ordered to change my broadband and phone line from BT to Plusnet (15/5/13) and i spoke to someone on the phone who confirmed that if i changed then with her i would be able to keep my phone number as it is important for me because I'm self employed. Instead of doing it on the phone i filled out an online form that was sent to me by her so I'm just writing here to see if anyone confirm that my number will stay the same. I'm sure there will be no problem but as my number is very important it will give me peace of mind if someone can confirm that my number will remain the same. Thanks in advance, Robert.
Given the importance of your number I'd contact your current provider and ask them also. You would normally keep your existing number unless your existing provider has some reason to stop you doing so.

Hi robertnorthall, I've taken a look at your account and we're requesting to keep your current number, there is very rarely an issue with this but as w23 mentioned it might be worth speaking with your current provider for peace of mind.
Just to follow on from what Chris has said, I've never seen a BT to PN transfer where the phone number has not been retained (when we have requested to do so).
