daily vishing and similar calls

we now are getting daily calls that are either going dead etc or are some idiot trying it on

is there anyway we can stop them, why is this happening?

is it now that common

The way to stop them is to buy a phone that includes the BT True Call guardian feature.

already have the call protect thing enabled, so doesn't really work

Yeah, a BT advance phone works. I got one on eBay for about £35 I think. The phone companies don’t want to or care about doing anything about it.

if a piece of hardware by BT works over what now is a virtual network, then why doesn't the plusnet software version work as well, can someone explain what the difference is, otherwise i can only conclude that the operators are exploting us for more money for a security situation of their making
