any BT work in Inverness atm? 3.40pm ish 9th Nov

Just had a lost sync so did the usual and picked up my phone to hear not the normal interference noise, but obviously man made pulses and clicks.  Those lasted about 2 mins before stopping, wish I had a way to record them if it happens again.
So makes me wonder if BT is doing any work this afternoon in Inverness.

No incident reports, no, and nothing scheduled for today, though there are warnings of 1 minute outages on the 13th and 27th of this month that should occur between 2am and 3.15am in the morning. Fairly sure it's not those though 😕 Nothing visible near your local cabinet?

My cabinet is a few streets away so no chance of seeing its it being worked, not had a re-occurrence, but if they are could be why my speeds were dire a few days ago.

Could be work at the exchange to put a new line in or activate broadband on the same line card that your line is connected to? We wouldn't be informed about that as it happens all the time and shouldn't be customer affecting in any way, but it would explain what's happened.

If they were replacing your line card due to a fault on it, it could explain both the downtime and also the previous problems.
