Unable to personalise 1571 greeting, if zero messages stored.

Like it says on the tin, and, I've skimmed the first 4 pages or so of posts here beforehand.
I have occasion to briefly change my automated answer phone message, however, I'm finding it impossible to access the 1571 'main menu' either by pressing '1' or '2'.
I can only assume this is because I have no stored messages at present, no matter how fast or slow I hammer the keys, once I've dialled 1571, I get the message 'You have no new messages. Goodbye!'
Is it me?

Hi - you only have our standard voicemail service which doesn't offer the facility to change your greeting; I believe this is offered by Voicemail Extra which you can add through the Home Phone control panel on our website.

Says you *can* change your greeting on standard voicemail.

Whoops, forgot about that! However, the cause is the same - the voicemail product on your line isn't right. Please raise a ticket saying that the voicemail product which has been provisioned on your line isn't right and needs to be changed to "Wholesale 1571 with greeting" and we can send that over to our Provisioning Team to get it changed
