Question about Mobile charges on Homephone vs BT

Hi guys,
could you give me an idea of whther calls to mobiles on Homephone are generally more costly, less costly or about the same as BT?
The reason I ask is that our last BT bill had £100 of calls to mobiles, but we are thinking of switching to Homephone.  Therefore its quite important to us how much calls to mobiles cost, and whther its going to be more expensive or not.

I can find the cost of calls from PN homephone to mobiles, buit not BT's costs, so I have been unable to comppare them.

Re: Question about Mobile charges on Homephone vs BT

Thanks guys!
So if I am reading that correctly, we are on BT togther at the moment, means that we are currently payinh 22.5p per minute to mobiles on BT, yet most of the Homephone charges are 9p a minute.
Am I reading it correctly?  I would save a massive amount and it would have been about 1/3 of the cost to mobiles if we were on Homephone?

Re: Question about Mobile charges on Homephone vs BT

No, you're paying 12.5p/min daytime and 7.5p/min evenings unless you're on an option with call mobile (I think it's included on Option 3 and £4.65 otherwise) when it's 9p/min daytime and 5p/min evenings.
If you're not on a Together option the charges are higher.

Re: Question about Mobile charges on Homephone vs BT

Thanks Paul, so we will still save a bit of money by chaning to homephone?
My main call is to Orange mobile, so thats 9.75p on homephone in the day and 5p evening,
BT is 12.5p and 7.5p?

DO you guys see this as correct?

Why not have an Orange contract at £40 per month with unlimited calls to the Orange network?

That's right - unless you've got a BT call mobile package.
You could aslo move to Home Phone and then use 18185 to call mobiles - see here on the Money Saving Expert's web site (the guy from Radio2's Jeremy Vine Show).
