Phone very noisy since broadband was down

I'm still having some trouble with the broadband not working and also since last night when I use the phone or someone calls me it is very crackly and I can hardly hear. I have tried to phone the Plus net number but someone apologises for the outage and then hangs up so I can't report my phone. Could the broadband fault affect my phone too.

'Tis t'other way round - the phone line is the problem. Report the fault to your phone provider (but don't mention broadband).
