Re: Phone repair, missing gutter corner....

'Resolver' has produced no reaction from OpenReach so I have submitted a complaint off my own bat.

Picture of our repair and the slightly 'iffy' connection...

I'll report results good or negative.....still feel let down by Plusnet though..however is anyone else any better?

Re: Phone repair, missing gutter corner....

Problem is, Openreach aren't customer facing and you are not their customer. You are a customer of Plusnet and they should be compensating you for damage done by their contractor. I'd stick a bill in to Plusnet and follow up with the small claims route. You shouldn't have to do this though, PN are renowned for not playing ball and ignoring issues Sad

@Marksfish
It is certainly one route to take!

I'm too ancient to need the hassle though...

OR made a response asking for photos immediately when I approached them directly this afternoon (rather than via Resolver)so I'll see what follows..

Re: Phone repair, missing gutter corner....

Fix

I am happy to report a successful completion of my claim against OR for the cost of repair to the damaged guttering on my bungalow.

I think the "Resolver" system that I tried first is not best suited for use by the already capable and articulate members of this forum. I tried it but didn't get any response.....

A direct approach to OpenReach however produced an almost instantaneous, polite and concerned response. I found OR interested and absolutely keen to 'put things right'. There was a claims handler and a claims form to complete but nothing that one would not have expected.

I think the OR engineer would have been better to report the damage to me when it was done but I can not fault OpenReach's reaction when it was brought to their attention.
They also reviewed the wiring which was 'ok'
In the end I think "Well done OR..." is indicated,

Good news that OR did the decent thing Thumbs_Up. Shame the people who should have been looking after your interests weren't so worried about it and left you to fend for yourself Ticked_off
