Phone line active but cant receive calls

When I check my order details it says my phone line is active and I also received a text yesterday saying my home phone service is ready for use and my phone number. But I've no dial tone and if I ring the number I was given it goes straight to answer message? Any ideas whats going on?

Hi there
I've tested your line and it's picking up a internal loop fault which could be down to faulty wiring or equipment in your property
Can you try your phone handset on its own directly into the test socket and see if that makes any difference?

Done that its still connecting straight to message services without my fone even ringing.

got sorted was a loose connection in a joint on my external cable I'm up and running. Thank you for speedy service in getting my phone line working
