Phone dead and BT don't recognise my telephone number

Hi all.

My phone line has been dead for a couple of days, hard to be sure exactly

how long as I don't use it much.

When I say dead, I mean totally silent, unlike the usual "airy" sound when

there's a fault, and more like the day I moved in, when the line wasn't

yet connected.

A ticket has been raised by Plusnet, and a visit is booked for next week.

It has occurred to me that the loss coincides "possibly" exactly with the end of

my 6 mnths free BB, and makes me wonder if someone could have ticked or

unticked the wrong box somewhere, and I've been disconnected.

To add to my suspicion is the fact that BT don't recognise my telephone number,

as if I don't exist.

Broadband is unaffected.

Any ideas or similar tales anyone?

It's just a coincidence so it should be fixed by the engineers visit.

Re: Phone dead and BT don't recognise my telephone number

Yes it was fixed, but it cost me another 2Mbps on top of the 5Mbps that I lost

when I was installing and configuring my own router and modem.

It feels as if someone at BT is staring at my line, waiting for me to

turn my modem off, so they can reduce my profile again.

Who do I talk to about that?

Thanks.
