Phone/Broadband Not Working

Hello - Since this morning i've been trying to use my phone both making/answering phone calls and using the internet and have been unable to use them - my son has tried ringing me and says that the home phone rings but we cannot answer it.
We have tried changing phones in the house to a standard phone but the issue is still there and the broadband is not working either.
Please assist - thank you.

What happens when you plug a phone in to the master socket without a filter? Is there a dial tone? No dial tone? Noise/hiss/crackle etc?
Make sure nothing else is plugged into the phone line when you test, just a single phone handset.
