Phantom Calls / Crackles on the line.

Hi all, 

So a really 'random' and strange issue. At random times and days (happens on some and not others) I am getting Phantom calls. Rings once then you pick up no one is on the other end. After doing 1471, no calls for that day. Have also noticed crackles on the line slightly nothing terrible but noticeable. 

This is on all phones within the house not just the one. Still experiencing crackles at the master socket. 

Suggestions and ideas please?

Quick update - undone the master socket and tried the TEST socket. Didn't get any crackles (unsure about phantom calls as they can be very random). Decided to swap the wires around, cut, and recrimp. Looks to have stopped the crackles. Only time will tell about the Phantom Calls.

You could try running the phone troubleshooter to see if it picks up any problems......
