Nuisance Calls but not from a withheld number - How do I find the owner?

Nuisance Calls but not from a withheld number - How do I find the owner?
I have the number but how do I get a reverse lookup so that I can report them using TPS etc.?
.
for example 01513241005. obviously a callcentre, where they are using English names (but are not).
"I am Alex from the claims department!" was the opener, but would not say who they worked for or where they got my number

Re: Nuisance Calls but not from a withheld number - How do I find the owner?

I got a couple of weird calls last week wanting to speak to 'The Home Owner' normally these get filtered by the phone but these got through because they were apparently from a local number, which was the only reason I answered. When I searched the number nothing came up which raised my suspicions even more. Why they were calling I don't know as I simply answered 'No' to his request, and have since added their number to the sh*t list. But time will tell I guess.

Google is your friend when it comes to this.
I'd bear in mind you might not be able to find out exactly who is the culprit but if the issue is highly severe or of a threatening nature I'd speak with the police.

Re: Nuisance Calls but not from a withheld number - How do I find the owner?

Google (or any other search engine) only gives a generic listing showing that x number has or is being used to nuisance call, and does not suggest a reverse lookup at all
It would be nice to get who pays for it, where it is, and who their teleco is.
And the police like the TPS etc. want more information than I have, or it seems can get Sad

Unfortunately it's information we also lack access to. I remember a few years ago when taking calls, the best I could do was Google the number on our user's behalf. Apologies for this

Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on one's point of view, reverse look ups for the ordinary Joe are illegal in the UK.

Each country has their own laws, and in some countries privacy concerns have resulted in them passing laws against phone number to name services. For example, the United Kingdom no longer permits such services to be used outside of law enforcement and emergency services, forcing UK directories like 192.com to remove the reverse service they once offered.

Also be aware that the CLI can be spoofed anyway.

You could try https://ico.org.uk/concerns/marketing/
If enough people report the same number it could lead to some action.
