No ring tones on my other phones

Since my homephone was transferred to plusnet, only my cordless phone rings when I have an incoming call.
On it's own it is not loud enough, and I am missing calls.
What can I do to fix this please?

Something else must have happened in addition to the service transfer. Has your wiring changed - eg you have removed the rat-tail filters because you have fibre? Many (corded) phones do not have the ring circuit, so a simple test would be to plug the phone into a rat-tail filter and see if that cures the problem (the filter contains the necessary components).

Keeping in mind what PeeGee posted, let me know if that doesn't help as this can sometimed be due to a fault with the service.

Yes, thank you!
I replaced the filters and all phones now ring.
I was told to remove them by the engineer, as he said they were not necessary now,
and may interfere with the service- not sure if he was referring to the phone service or the fibre optic service?
If this isn't affected, then the problem is solved!

It sounds like he disconnected the ring wire in the extension plate on the VDSL2 socket - some phones won't work without this.
I could be wrong though.

Probably Dom - I have very old phones just for the fun of them!
They're colour co-ordinated which you can't find nowadays, and one of them is a 60's dial phone.
They are all ringing away nicely again now though - thanks everyone

Oh dear, it hasn't worked after all.
I now have all my phones ringing but when I answer, the caller cannot be heard.
If they ring again, it seems the call goes straight to my voicemail.
I've had to disconnect the filters again so I'm back to square one

Sorry to hear that, especially after you'd thought you got it sorted out. An engineer visit will probably be needed to correct that. I'm going to advise raising that via the fault checker to start the process off: http://faults.plus.net
