No frills line rental

Currently the cheapest option for phone home is the evenings and weekends, correct me if I am wrong.
Are there any future plans (short-term) from Plusnet to roll out an option for just paying the line rental with no included talk time (cheaper than 11.99 hopefully)?
Any answer appreciated

Dear Mr hercules,
We've received notice of an order to transfer your phone line and call plan to
another company. We're treating this as a request to end your telephone service
agreement with us.
We're sorry we're losing you as a customer.

....and so on
nice service from Plusnet, but prices too high. I am wondering if you keep any stats of how many people ditched and switched since the price hike. Anyway, all the best for the future, who knows, we might meet again sometime  Wink

Re: No frills line rental

Maybe I'm lazy, or just don't care enough about money (unlikely) but I find that the differences between most landline providers are so small as to make no difference.
It's only when you get into bundled packages of several services together that there's any advantage at all, and even then it's often difficult to identify due to the difference between the charging packages.

Re: No frills line rental

Best deal seem to be primus's home phone saver  evenings & weekends package via uswitch* for £7.16pm( which includes  £10 cashback  deal from Qudico /Topcashback.)
Or £7.99pm   with no cashback via broadband choices.

Either there has to be a catch with prices that cheap or other providers are ripping cutomers off.

Re: No frills line rental

There not know for customer service, but if you can deal with that,  the £7.16 with free calls after 6pm is unbeatable at the moment, for just a basic no frills service.
On Primus's own  webiste LR is  £8.99pm so there must be some sort of deal going on between the comparison sites & New call. ( primus is part of new call)
If I remember correctly BTopenreach charge  £8.39 pm for WLR.

"Free calls after 6pm"? I could not find a definition of "evening" anywhere on the Premus site.

From the help section/billing  Wink
Quote:
Am I charged different peak and off peak rates?
Yes. However, most call types have different rates depending on the time of day. Whenever you make a call using Primus Home Phone your call falls into one or more of the following call bands:
Daytime: Mon - Fri - 08:00:00am to 17:59:59pm
Evenings: Mon - Fri - 18:00:00pm to 07:59:59am
Weekends: 18:00:00pm Fri to 07:59:59am Mon
Please note: Calls may begin in one charging band and run into another charging band. If this happens, each portion of the call is charged at the applicable rate.

Re: No frills line rental

Should update this: Real no fills line rental
Primus are now offering no fills line rental for £6.79 per month via broadband choices on a 12 month contract.  ( it works out at £5.95 if you use cashback sites for  uswitch)
Its just the land line rental , no free calls or line features.
Still if you use 18185 (as its still on BT's WRL network ) then its hard to beat if you can handle the "customer service" Wink
