No dialling tone but broadband still working

Hi, please help.

My phone has suddenly lost its dialling tone when plugged into the microfilter though the broadband still works. The phone will work when plugged directly into the main socket so it's not the phone itself. We've  tried 5 (!) different microfilters but still the phone won't work. We even tried the microfilter into the test socket but the phone doesn't work then either.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

I think what you are saying is that the phone will work when plugged in directly but is dead when connected to a filter? If this is the case my guess is that the phone is, for some reason, possibly a faulty internal component, is requiring more current then can be transferred through the filter. I would try a different phone.

Thanks for the reply. We've tried 2 different phones and it's the same with both - work on their own but not through the filter. It was fine until a few days ago. Very odd. I'll try phoning Plusnet tomorrow
