No dial tone but broadband unaffected.

Hello all,

Woke up on tuesday (19/12) morning to find the cordless phone saying "check phone line".  Picked up phone and there wasn't a dial tone.  Tried ringing it from another phone and received an automated message saying the call could not be connected.  Tried internet and found that to be working at normal speed. Plugged corded phone into the Master socket internal test socket - still no dial tone.

I went through the Plusnet trouble shooter and ended up having a support ticket raised (fault ID 1105316).  Ten minutes later, the call was updated (question #239065048) with a Plusnet Robot's message saying "ticket moved for advisor action".  That was 10:29 on 19th, since then, nothing.

I've tried doing a chat to find out if there's been any progress or a time to fix and, after several loops of the robotic chat system, the suggestion was to ring an 0800 number, but no explanation how to do that with no dial tone Cheesy

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Paul

Hi @cmsapms

It looks like this happened because you used the old troubleshooter rather than the new one here

We've picked it up manually and raised it now but in future I'd recommend using the one above

After the 3rd of November I will have a limited presence here as I have moved to a new role

Re: No dial tone but broadband unaffected.

Hello Matthew,

Thanks for your reply.  I saw that text message method, but it was not very useful as, like a surprising number of people, I don't have a mobile phone, hence why having my landline broken is inconvenient.

Again, thanks for getting the ball rolling on this; I understand from the message appended to the ticket (1105316) that I shouldn't expect a resolution this side of Christmas?

Cheers

Paul

Re: No dial tone but broadband unaffected.

Thanks for getting back to us Paul. It has an Estimated Repair Time of 27th, and with it being christmas, I don't expect it to be done sooner really. I do apologise about this.
