No dial tone and slow fiber speed

I have just switched over my phone and fiber connection today from BT, but I have no dial tone on the phone and the router is really slow, only connecting at 8mb (normally around 30mb) , the phone rings but when i answer there is no one there and the call cuts off. I'm guessing the speed issue is to do with the phone line not working properly?
I have taken the faceplate off and tried the test socket I have also tried a different wired phone but still no dial tone. I tried the phone checker via the plusnet website but I keep getting an error message saying "oops something seems to have gone wrong"
