No dial tone and no broadband

After a very loud thunderstorm at around 6am this morning, we have no dial tone and we are unable to access to internet. We live in a semi rural area in the Vale of Glamorgan in South Wales.
We cannot get through on the phone to access support from Plusnet and I logged a report online at around 7am but no response.
Cannot get any info from Plusnet website or on any local BT power outages, or via either company's Twitter.
Can anyone advise?! Have tried calling our home phone but get answerphone.

Ask a neighbour if their phone is working.  If it is then it is almost certainly your line that has stopped working rather than some wider outage.
Unfortunately faults logged online currently take 2 to 3 days to reach the top of the queue and get looked at.  And there are long waits (typically 30 minutes?) to get through to Plusnet technical support on the phone (0800 432 0200).  But it may be worth the wait to kick things off a bit faster.

Hi afon223,
Sorry to hear that you have a fault. I can see that an engineer has completed some repairs in an attempt to resolve this earlier today. Is your phone now working?
