New customer chosing LRS, Evenings & Weekends option not offered

I've signed up for Plusnet home phone, it's due to go live next week (broadband is already migrated).  I've taken the LRS option and I understand that this doesn't include any calls any more since I am a new customer.  But I see that there is a weekend and evenings option for £1.50 - except that this isn't offered at the sign-up stage.  Do I really have to be a customer for a month before I can select this option?  Customer services say I have to select the add-on once the account is active, but that it won't activate until the next billing month.  Is there any way to get it active from the start? Or am I misunderstanding things and the package isn't even available to me?

Hi snj,
This is the way the Line Rental Saver platform has been built and is not something that can be easily changed. If you can PM me over your username once you're active I'm happy to see if I can get you on to the Evenings & Weekends package prior to your next billing date.

Yes - I lost more on call costs than I saved by being on the LRS payment. Bit annoying.

Hi,
Just added Home Phone to my existing broadband on LRS.
One question I can't find an answer for: are Plusnet to Plusnet calls still free on LRS if you don't have a call package i.e line only?

Don't forget the 60 minute limit still applies I believe
