New Home Phone

Hi Everyone:

I have what are probably two very simple questions, but I just want to be sure before I buy :

1) I need urgently to buy a new landphone (my first for many years). Will my current phone number automatically be applied to the new phone?

2) Will the phone automatically be added to my Plusnet broadband / phone line rental package, even if it is bought through a supplier associated with another landline supplier (eg: BT Shop) ?

I am assuming the answer to both questions is 'yes', but I just want to check before I buy.

@Alun1 Welcome to the forums. As you surmise, the answer to both questions is YES - the number is associated with your line, not what you have on the end of it,

All's well and a new home phone ordered. I've been meaning to get one for ages, but it took the total failure of my old one to motivate me! (Now I have to get myself my first ever smartphone, but with my level of indecision, that'll take me weeks to do!! 🙂 )
