Hiya folks
I am just writing to say that I am having problems with my Plus Net service.
Firstly, I am having no dial tone when using my landline. I tried using it for phone for takeaway food and the line is dead. I had tried taking out the micro-filter connected to the mainline and it's still dead. I even used a second phone and no success. However, the broadband connection is still working.
The next problem lies with the broadband connection itself, it's really slow and I am getting speeds of less than 0.5mbps.
I believe the source of the problem lies with the telephone lines being messed up due to high winds and generally miserable weather. If you guys could help me out, that'll be great.

If you've got a mobile you'd be best ringing them.

Hiya,
I have tried ringing it on my mobile and the landline isn't ringing. I've tried my back-up phone, rang the number again and nothing. The number is ringing, but there's no way I could "answer" it using my existing landlines.
Like what I said, my connection has been pretty poor since high winds started battering the West Coast of Scotland a couple of days ago.

Sounds like a classic break in the line problem - line goes dead and broadband while available slows to a crawl.
As above - time to report it as a fault and get an engineer out. If you have no dialtone at the master socket, the fault almost certainly isn't at your property.

Just a wee quick update. I've given PN a phone. The number was phoned, they found a problem with the line and they're sending an engineer within 24 hours.
Just for the record, the service was really quick and the guy on the phone was friendly. Thanks for the advice and fingers crossed that the problem will be solved..

Hi,
Did Plusnet sort this problem for you?
I have the same problem but although they located the fault on Openreaches side of the exchange, they seem unable to cure it.
Openreach said it would be cured by the 6th Feb but as its now the 8th...
