Line Rental Saver - not available on legacy packages?

I'm on the Anytime 240 package. I was told some months back I would have to change to current E&W or Anytime packages to qualify for line rental saver. Is this still the case?

Yes, that hasn't changed as LRS isn't available for any of the legacy phone packages.

Thats a pity. Anytime 240 suits my usage profile. Still, at least it leaves me free to shop around

I've worked out that if I change to the current Anytime product and then take out the LRS before the price change I will save £6 over the coming year. It will cost £6 extra the following year if prices don't increase again after 18th November. At worst I break even.
So I switched to anytime via the Product Change pages on the portal.
But I haven't found out how to get the LRS!

If the phone product change has gone through, login to the Member Centre and click Phone Calls on the left hand menu. On the right hand side of the page you should see a large banner advertisement inviting you to "get line rental saver". Click that and follow the instructions.

The product change will go through on my next billing date.
The LRS option won't be available until the product change takes place.
You know what's coming next....................
My billing date is after the price increase comes into affect.
