Line Rental Saver increases

Hi All

I paid my first Line Rental Saver back in 2013 which cost £131.88. Amazingly it stayed the same for 2014 but has increased dramatically year on year so 2015 was £155.88, 2016 185.88 and now in 2017 £197.88. Strange how it always ends in 88 pence. I find the large increases unacceptable and Plusnet has not given any reason for them. Can anyone detail what the increases are for exactly?

Thanx

W

Re: Line Rental Saver increases

The £xxx.88 is the full year rate - 12 months @ £16.49 pm equivalent -last year 12 months @ £15.49 pm

As in previous reply - line rental generally has gone up at a rate of knots because all the ISPs like to advertise cheap or free broadband. This is why Ofcom changed the rules recently to show the full bundled prices on adverts.

Re: Line Rental Saver increases

Actually the full year rate is given as this

"Pay for 12 months line rental up front for £197.88, equivalent to £16.49 a month, compared to our usual line rental price of £18.99 a month."

They make it seem like I'm getting a good deal Hah!

While it may not be as cheap or as much of a saving as it was previously, Line Rental Saver is still a saving of £30 per year compared to the standard line rental cost.

The standard line rental cost is also quite competitive in line with the rest of the market.

Re: Line Rental Saver increases

Think I'll probably hold off renewal due in November. Will pay the extra £2 extra until contract renewal in Feb 2018 as I think I will have more options / leverage than if I am tied into a non-refundable linerental saver with PN for another 12 months.

As far I as I know the LRS HAS to be refunded now, OFCOM ruling.

Cheesy Yes because all major ISPs have the same/similar sky high landline price

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: Line Rental Saver increases

A quick look suggests it might only be applicable if I leave due to a price increase where I am entitled to leave without penalty. Not sure it applies to me leaving just because I want to.

There was a thread on here about it, that's where I heard about it.

Re: Line Rental Saver increases

Yes, came across that but was in context of leaving due to price hike where the customer is entitled to leave without penalty.
