Landline Voicemail

Hi

Sorry to be a doddering dooberry. Regarding my landline Voicemail, is there a way to get it to kick in after 9 or 10 rings instead of 7?  That's just too quick for me to totter over to the phone!  I don't know my PIN for Voicemail (did I ever get one?) so how do I learn that, please?
