Landline - Switched from BT but answerphone not working
Grateful for some help! I switched from BT to PLUSNET but my answerphone is not working. When you ring my home number, a recorded message plays saying 'Welcome to BT answering service' (or words to that effect) and asking you to leave a message, but when you try to leave a message then nothing is recorded and the phone displays '0 messages received'.
As automatic answering of calls is included with PLUSNET, I expected the change would be seamless, with no action on my part and all I would notice was that I would get a similar PLUSNET message when the answerphone kicked in.
I have checked my PLUSNET account settings and voicemail is ticked.
Any ideas please?

Just to clarify, I have since discovered that messages are being recorded and can be retrieved by 1571. However what I want is the answerphone (handset) to pick up and record the messages, and not 1571...so is it just a simple case of disabling the 1571 service?
