Is my dialtone ok?

Due for installation tomorrow (not holding my breath) but my phone tone (not the actual ringing but the tone when i hold the earpiece to my ear) isn't one continuous brrrrrrrrrr it has a gap, that is brrrrrrrrrr gap brrrrrrrrrr gap brrrrrrrr gap etc
Is this going to affect the installation process?

Dial 1571 and listen to your voicemail messages!

Re: Is my dialtone ok?

Did you ask for the basic answerphone service when you made your order?

Re: Is my dialtone ok?

I've just got the basic anytime phone package, no added extras. Is the voice mail standard?

Re: Is my dialtone ok?

Standard 1571 is on by default. That dial tone says you have new messages waiting - once you have listened to them you will get a normal dial tone.

Re: Is my dialtone ok?

As jelv says it's on by default unless you unticked the box when you placed the order. If the order was placed verbally - were you not asked if you wanted it?
If you don't want it, log into the Member Centre Home Phone Control Panel and on the Call features tab and select Remove Call features and untick it.
Be aware, if you keep it, when your line is engaged - ie someone else leaving a message or a call in progress, then anyone calling you will go immediately to the answerphone with no opportunity to hear an engaged tone or use Ring when Free if they wanted to, they will also be charged unless the call is in their inclusive minutes (for a landline calling that's a connection fee + first minute with most providers!).
