Is it possible to bar all calls

Hi
I'm going to be moving home shortly and inorder to avoid breaching 12 months contract on my plusnet broadband+home phone service, I'm thinking of leaving my account open for additional 3 weeks after I have moved out of the property. (not planning to move my plusnet service as the new property already has all things required and paid by someone else).
I'm wondering if it will be possible for plusnet to make my phone line 'Incoming' only for those 3 weeks, so I don't end up with a huge bill incase the new tenants decide to have some fun !! Grin

Re: Is it possible to bar all calls

I'd have thought that you should be able to pay for the full 12 months but have the service terminated early.
That would also remove complications for anyone moving in after you as I think they wouldn't be able to order their own service until after yours had ended.

Re: Is it possible to bar all calls

Yes, if Plusnet are able to terminate all service on the day I move out, it would be great and I don't have to worry.............anyone from Plusnet team can confirm if this is possible ?
Also do I have to give 30 days or 14 days notice in adavnce for terminating service ?

Re: Is it possible to bar all calls

10 days notice, but if you are terminating the service, there is a £25 fee, non if you transfer

Re: Is it possible to bar all calls

Yes - the only way you avoid that is if you use a MAC to transfer the line to a different provider.

Re: Is it possible to bar all calls

The original post is in the correct forum. There's three separate issues, totally cancelling all the services without incurring the cost of deferred items by leaving before 12 months is up, preventing the new tenants using the phone at the OP's expense during the gap between leaving and expiring of the 12 months and finally what costs are going to be involved.
You must also bear in mind that you can't order Plusnet Home Phone without also having broadband. It makes sense therefore to address all aspects in the one topic (which is what we have done) - preventing the use of the phone was the primary concern so this was the correct forum.

Re: Is it possible to bar all calls

Hi kompkar,
We can arrange to bar all outgoing calls for you, although it may be better for the people moving in if we arrange a cease early but leave your account active until the 12 month point.
Either way, you'll need to speak to the Customer Options Team on 08451400602.
