International calls

At present we are with BT and we make a lot of calls to South Africa using Ratebuster as the BT rates are a joke.  If you switch your phone across to PlusNet as part of a bundle, can you carry on using Rate buster as the calls to a landline are 2p a minute whereaas PlusNet are 52p a minute?  With Ratebuster you phone a 0844 number to phone an overseas landline.

you can, but you pay for the 0844 number, and on home phone any time you get 300 mins a month  @ 30 mins a call to the following
Australia Austria Belgium Canada Cyprus Denmark France Germany Greece Hungary Ireland Italy Luxembourg Netherlands New Zealand Poland Portugal Spain (exc. Canary Islands) Sweden USA

Thanks.  Don't know any one in any of those countries so no use to us.  As long as we can carry on using Ratebuster then there should not be an issue as there is a big difference between £0.52p and £0.02p!  Now need to decide whether to take evenings or anytime package as 99% of our calls during the daytime are to 0871 and 0844 numbers.

the only free numbers on the new package aare 0845 and 0870, you have to pay for 0844 and 0871 or use http://www.saynoto0870.com/ to get a free number

Trouble is my Local NHS hospital has recently gone 0844 and the number given on say no to dosnt work.  Bring on the govenment banning NHS from using them
Basildon Hopspital has also changed in the last six months, when they call you the caller display is for instance 01234, the 1234 is the extension number.  say no to gives the number as 01268 56-ext  that works

Agreed that all government numbers should never be premium numbers. i never see the point of nongeo numbers for hospitals, as most people are local.
Fortunately the numbers I use for my doctor, hospital etc her in Scotland are all geo numbers.
For my doctor he is on the same exchange so just dial the six figure number which is easy to remember, i did it only a couple of hours ago to chat with my GP.
