International Freephone numbers - do they cost me?

I need to ring a support number for Seagate and they only provide this number
00.800.4732.4283

From googling I have found it is meant to be an international freephone number.  There seems to be some confusion about charging or not.  If I call it from my Plus Net land line is it free or not.

Apparently it's free. See Mand's posting on 11/01/2011:

Cheers, my concern is that the post was nearly 2 years ago and things could well have changed since then.  We could do with a latest update from the PN staff Smiley

I've asked Ben to double check.

We haven't processed any of these calls - which is basically the same as saying that we don't charge for them as given the number of calls that we process on a daily basis, we would have seen these before if they were presented to us.

Cool, so as you are saying that you don't charge then I can ring them up Smiley

As it happens, I don't even have 0080* mapped to anything so I'd see it as soon as a call is made to that number - if we get to see it at all. I can only find anecdotal evidence about the charging structure for this for BT Retail - which points to them not receiving or rating the call either. Please let us know if you do call and whether this shows up so we can confirm this Smiley
