Intermittent Fault

Has anyone had this type of fault and if so how was it permanently cured?
I have Fibre to the Cabinet phone and broadband from PN. My phone has been cutting out occasionally, or sometimes when I want to dial out I find the phone is 'dead'. However, if someone calls me when my phone is out of action it springs back to life. When the phone is out of action I have tried plugging a corded phone into the master socket behind the faceplate but find the line is dead. Broadband seems to be unaffected however.
What kind of fault is temporarily cured by someone ringing me?

Re: Intermittent Fault

Sounds like a bad joint somewhere.
The incoming call puts a higher voltage on the line temporarily cleaning the bad joint.
It would need reporting to your telephone service provider as a phone fault.

@trymyluck
Sorry to hear about the issue. I can see a fault has been raised and that a phone engineer is due to visit tomorrow.
