How long for a call feature to start?

Hi

I added Call Protect yesterday in my account due to the high number of spam calls I'm getting, I've also got TPS.

Over 24 hours later and in my account it still says that Call Protect is awaiting activation.

Any idea how long this takes please?

Thank you

Re: How long for a call feature to start?

Hi there,

It's possible the call feature is stuck on your account as it shouldn't take longer than 24 hours. The service may actually be working though, have you tried dialling 1572?

Either way it looks like we'll need to get this manually sorted out for you and we'll get back to you when we're back in the office tomorrow. Smiley

Re: How long for a call feature to start?

Thanks for the reply.

No, not working, I just get the message "The service can not be connected"

I'll wait for further updates tomorrow.

Cheers

Duncan

Re: How long for a call feature to start?

Ah, no problem Duncan.

Fingers crossed there are no issues with us sorting this out for you, because in very few instances Call Protect isn't compatible with some exchange equipment so I'm wondering whether the order with our suppliers had been rejected due to this, which may explain why it's stuck.

We'll see what tomorrow brings Smiley

Re: How long for a call feature to start?

Fix

Hi Duncan, sorry for the delay.

It looks like this failed because we didn't update the telephone number on your account following renumbering your line. I've manually placed an order to activate Call Protect and it should start working within the hour.

I've also raised a task with the relevant team to fix the the stuck feature on your home phone control panel, which should be sorted within the next 24 to 48 hours. I've also updated your phone number so this sort of thing shouldn't happen again.

Can you let me know how it goes?

Re: How long for a call feature to start?

Many thank for that Gandalf. It does explain the email I have just had about my details being updated by Plusnet Support.

I will update you, probably tomorrow morning though.

Thanks again

Re: How long for a call feature to start?

No problem Duncan, the order has actually completed now so it should be working whenever you've got a chance to check. Appreciate it's a bit late at night though! Cheers -Anoush

If it helps anyone else just found this:

  • Press 2 to remove the last entry from your diverted caller list.
  • Press 3 to listen to your 1572 messages.
  • Press 4 to change your personal options including –
    Plusnet's diverted list
    Your diverted list

Or hold to hear these menu options again

Re: How long for a call feature to start?

Ha ha, funny you should mention that.  I just added call barring, it was added within an hour, so that's a great improvement, I went by this guide that was included in the email, however, when I get to premium rate numbers, it fails, all others work fine though, any ideas please?

Duncan

*341# - This will bar almost all calls from your phone

*342# - Bar national and international calls and calls to mobiles

*343# - Bar international calls

*344# - Bar all operator calls

*345# - Bar any numbers with a * or # in them

*347# - Bar calls to premium rate numbers

Haha no problem, and that's odd. What happens when you try, do you hear a message?

Re: How long for a call feature to start?

*347# I get " the number you have dialled has not been recognised"

If I dial *#34# premium is not selected as barred

Weird?
