How do i know when home phone is active

Will plusnet inform me when my home phone is available supposed to be today but heard nothing yet

Yep, you should receive an email advising you it's active.

Okay none of my BT services are working so it must be active Ill just wait for the confirmation

It can take a few days for the confirmation to happen, the customer quite often notices the switch has completed before we get the confirmation from BT.

mine should be active today, but have not received an email etc, yet as above my BT services have gone
Am I safe to assume that I can now make free calls?

Hi there,
We actually don't receive the reports from BT of activations completing until the following day, so you'll probably receive an email tomorrow morning.
If you can no longer access/use your BT services it's safe to assume the transfer is complete.
