Home Phone Doesn't Ring!

Hi

As of today my home phone won't ring.

I can call out and people can phone me as ive tried it with ringing from my mobile but it won't ring!

Tried all phones in the house and they are the same.

Any help appreciated.

When you phone from your mobile and it is ‘ringing’ have you picked up the house phone to see if the call is connected?

How many phone units (RENs) are connected to the line?

Sorry your phone service isn't working as expected. When I've tested the line it has come back with a suspected exchange fault so this has now been raised to Openreach for investigation we should have an update within 48 hours, when hopefully it should have been resolved for you.

Out of interest can you make calls fine, and when you pick up the receiver do you have a dial tone?

Yes to both, everything is working fine just no "ring" which is a bit strange...only noticed it as of yesterday as I was trying to phone home all day and couldn't get anyone to answer.

My Mum was a bit confused as she didn't realise I had been calling her!

Then it's likely the fault is causing a bell not ringing issue, either way it'll go to an external engineer, but if you have a spare analogue handset it's probably worth checking with that too, just in case.

I've tried it with 2 cordless phones and a analogue one and still no joy, we thought it was the phone at first but its only a few months old.

Oh well that settles it then, it'll definitely be that testable issue so we'll see what the outcome of the external visit is.

Hi @Blueyezz,

Just checked your fault and it's marked as cleared. Looks like the port was faulty causing no ring. That's been changed and everything should now be working as expected, assuming by the 'marked as fixed' that's the case which is great. Let us know if you have any further issues.
