Has the penny dropped? 0845 are calls going UP

Just reading through the email and new charges, non inclusive 0845 numbers are going UP if the are to be charged the same as 01,02,03 numbers. Currently 0845 numbers are 2ppm daytime and 0.5ppm evenings from October they will be 4.5ppm.
I'm going to avoid these charges and use VOIP (Not PlusNet because they charge rip off prices for 0845). No set up fee and lower call charge and just as good speech quality.

I'd noticed that too, but I refuse to ring 0845 or 0870 numbers full stop.    Now at least I can ring them evening and weekends free of charge on my package, if there is anyone there to answer the call at those times.

Sometimes you can't avoid dialing 0845 numbers because they are the only number available.

last night it was announced that NHS service are to be banned from using other that truly local call charges,    but that doesn't help those who get 01,02,03 free but the others cost, ie legacy home phone

According to CS, Greenbee Customer Options team only have an 0845 number "With regards to your query, please take note that it is with great regret that we unfortunatley only have a 0845 number for Customer Options" and they are not included in the inclusive call package. Sad

Yes, that's correct.  The Greenbee Customer options Team are based here in Sheffield, which is on an 0845 telephone number.

Why not a Sheffield number James?
We were told that you needed 0845 for your main PN number so you could route it according to load, but if there is just one site, couldn't you earn a little good press by moving to an 0114 number?

Well said James_G.
It's rubbing salt into the wound as I recently found out that my Greenbee phone package will shortly include 0870 numbers but not 0845.
