Ex Directory

On another thread it was stated:
Quote from: Oldjim
Plusnet automatically make new connections ex directory

I would be grateful for some clarification.  What do you mean by 'new connections'?  What do you do if you do not want to be ex directory?

Re: Ex Directory

It means that where the line is connected via Plusnet for the first time rather than via a migration (where I believe the situation from the previous supplier continues) it is ex directory
If you don't want to be ex directory you would need to advise Plusnet either at the time or indeed at any time after the line is connected
I haven't trawled back to where this was covered by Plusnet as it was a long time ago

Re: Ex Directory

Sorry to hijack the thread but it seems relevant to this, does it cost to go ex directory?

Re: Ex Directory

Hi ReedRichards,
Usually, all new orders are placed ex-directory; that would be the default option. This should include, new installs, transfers and takeovers. Is there anything you'd like me to have a look at?

Re: Ex Directory

Hi Luke
I transferred my telephone service (from BT) to Plusnet at the end of June.  But I have no desire to be ex-directory so if Plusnet have made me ex-directory, can you revoke that please.

Re: Ex Directory

I've placed an order to ADD you to the phone book. The request takes 48 hours, then it will take a bit longer to propagate through the various online directories and phone book.

Re: Ex Directory

Thanks very much Luke; I wasn't looking for instant results and 48 hours plus a bit longer is fine.
