Hi, I am a plusnet phone and broadband customer. I have just moved house and transferred my service to the new address but i have a problem. The Telephone will receive incoming calls no problem but will NOT make outbound calls. I get a dial tone and can type the number but it just doesn't connect. I just get a DRRRRRR! noise. I have isolated the internal wiring and tried two different handsets but the problem persists. I have reported this to plusnet and they have run a test and said the line is fine. It sounds like a call barring has been left on from the previous owner but i don't know. The previous owners had sky telephone/broadband. Not sure if that is related. Plusnet said I need an engineer visit (Booked for next Tuesday) but it seems a bit overkill to me. Any ideas? Thanks.
