Crackle on line

Hi

In the last few days, I have had a loud of crackle on my landline. It is intermittent and can start before I even dial. I have tested with 2 separate phones and the problem is consistent. I tried to call customer support but was directed to the forum.

As I am also working from home and often have poor mobile reception, I would be grateful if you could confirm what can be done about this.

Try running through the advice on the Plusnet website https://www.plus.net/help/phone/

If the suggestions for local steps don't offer a solution you will end up running the online troubleshooting at https://www.plus.net/my-account/tools/phone-troubleshooter/

If there is a problem with the line, that should report it to Openreach/Plusnet and create a ticket on your Plusnet account (not here on the Forum, at Plus.net)

Thank you for your reply. I have tried the troubleshooting and this did not resolve the issue. I then tried the tool and it gave me an error (after disconnecting my broadband) asking me to phone a number. This number is the one I first called, which told me to post on the forum. There clearly is something wrong with my line. How can I raise the issue with Plusnet?

The troubleshooter is not without problems. Apparently it can give an oops! message and still report a fault. Have a look at your account on the main Plus.net site and see if it raised what is called a ticket. I think that the link for tickets is https://www.plus.net/wizard/?p=search

If not then - and I'm sorry and I know that this is going to be disappointing - your options are limited: you could try Twitter, phoning in, or waiting until a Plusnet Staffer picks up your post here.

Thanks for the reply.  Sadly it did not raise a ticket and I am left shouting in to the void.
