You might want to have a look at using "access number", when dialling abroad from your landline, I have used them quite a few times, with no problems. and they are so much cheaper,

Yes, that is correct. The standard rate is 18.30p during the Daytime and 12.60p during the Evening and Weekends.
Another option is to use Skype as this is free if the person you're calling has it installed as well and it's also possible to do video calls through it.
