True. but Amazon and others (eg Play.com) are selling it for less than £80 (a discount of £20 compared with the manufacturers own site (truecall.co.uk)).
And it does come with additional features that could replace some of  those monthly 'extras' that you have pay to your telephone provider (a full feature answerphone, incoming call barring etc). Saving £3 a month on those extras means that it could pay for itself in just over 2 years.

Changing your number and going ex-directory should fix it.

Although not with PN for phone, I AM ex-directory and changed my number a couple of years ago (I used to have a number 1 removed (like 12345 and 12346) from a local business so used to get a lot of calls for them, but I STILL get these we are doing a survey/you have won a prize or silence because the call center doesn't have anyone to answer at their side. Usually I pick up the phone but if no one responds with in a few seconds I hang up, without having said anything. Either that or if they catch me at  a bad time they get some VB.

Unfortunately it usually doesnt fix it.  Often these calls are done by an auto dialer, and when you change your number you don't usually get a new number but a recycled number.
