Changes to 084 & 087 numbers

Could someone confirm whether calls to 0870 & 0845 numbers are still free on the Anytime International package following the announced changes to calls to these numbers?

in the announcement https://www.plus.net/ukcalling/ it states
Quote
PLEASE NOTE: These industry changes will not affect any inclusive minutes within your current Plusnet call plan. Any inclusive minutes you currently have will remain inclusive.

...and for clarity, free up to the published free call duration - e.g. 60 minutes.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Ok I just read through OldJim's link to the Plus Net explanation and that is as clear as mud.

Re: Changes to 084 & 087 numbers

Oh I thought I should add, not all Plus Net customers have been informed of this change.  I know I certainly haven't been yet nor have my parents nor my inlaws or grand parents.

Re: Changes to 084 & 087 numbers

Hi Kat
I think it would be helpful if there was a way that people could easily check if an 087 or 084 number etc (in fact any number) is included in the inclusive call packages.  The way I have read that (and I am not alone) is that you wont know which numbers now are going to cost you until you get the bill.  its not as simple as OfCom think they have made it.

Re: Changes to 084 & 087 numbers

Oh perhaps I should add, I made some random calls a few weeks ago to get a cross section of PN staff and none of them could explain the new calling system so its not just me being dull.  Grin

The new charging process is no different from the current one in respect of which calls are inclusive. If it is presently inclusive it will still be inclusive.

Re: Changes to 084 & 087 numbers

I appreciate that but how do we work out if new numbers are included or not.  Maybe a lookup app for peoples smart phones etc and a web app that allows people to do this ?Huh

Re: Changes to 084 & 087 numbers

I am having trouble understanding the problem
The numbers haven't changed and those included before are included now i.e.  inclusive calls to UK landlines, 0845 and 0870 numbers
087 and 084 numbers have never been included
The pricing for those numbers is to a large extent caused by the tariff selected by the owner of the number and the only real change is to split the existing charge in two

Re: Changes to 084 & 087 numbers

Ok Jim so
087 0 is included
087 1-9 is NOT included
084 5 is included
084 4 is NOT included etc
it is the fact that it refers to only the first 3 digits in the brief

Re: Changes to 084 & 087 numbers

The point is that 0845 and 0870 calls are inclusive only at times specified in one's call plan. Outside these times 0845 and 0870 calls are charged using the new two-part tariff so mentioning only 3 digits in the brief is correct..
