Carrier pre select 18185

I already have PN broadband and I'm considering transferring my phone service from BT to Plusnet as BT have announced a 50p per month increase for their line rental charge. But I have a question regarding the carrier pre select service 18185 which is allowed by BT and at no charge, which I've been using for the past 3 years as I don't make enough calls to justify the additional £5 per month cost of either BT's Unlimited Anytime plan or PN's Talk Anytime plan: -
(1) Does Plusnet allow the unrestricted use of 18185
(2) If 18185 is allowed, is there a charge when dialling the service

Re: Carrier pre select 18185

The link doesn't specifically answer my questions .... I'm already with BT for line rental and have been using 18185 for calls for the last 3 years and am considering moving it to Plusnet.
Can someone please provide a simple answer to the simple question: - 'Does Plusnet allow the unrestricted use of 18185 the same as BT' -  i.e. either Yes or No.

I can assure you that they don't as I've been using 18185 since last year  Smiley

Re: Carrier pre select 18185

Thanks Nadger, but just to clarify before I transfer from BT ....
(1) You have Plusnet Homephone
(2) You dial 18185 and not 0808 1 703 703 for non BT landlines
(3) You don't get charged by PN for dialling 18185

Re: Carrier pre select 18185

Yes to all 3 points.
I have Evening & Weekend with Plusnet, I dial 18185 as you do from BT landline and PN do not charge me any extra.
I mainly use 18185 to dial my daughters mobile and also to text non Virgin mobiles.

Re: Carrier pre select 18185

Thanks Nadger, for you unconfusing reply based on fact instead of opinion.
I want to do the same as you - get PN's Evening and Weekend plan and use 18185 to dial my daughter during the daytime as she's at home with my granddaughter, just as I'm doing with BT and 18185. BT are increasing their line rental charge by 50 pence to £12.79 per month so it's time to move to PN and pay £11.25 .... as Bob Hoskins used to say - 'it's good to talk' - but cheaper with PN instead of BT  Grin

What does it take to convince this user, who seems to keep repeating the same question !
