Call Protect required urgently to prevent nuisance calls

I am an elderly pensioner who has been receiving nuisance calls. I arranged to set up Call protect 48 hours ago. I subsequently received an email that said Voicemail would be disconnected but nothing about Call Protect being enabled.

 

When I dial 1571 I get the message "This line doesn't have a call answering service" and when I dial 1572 I get the message "The service cannot be connected".

The Home Phone Panel in my account details says that both Voicemail and Call Protect are awaiting activation. I thought it was supposed to take 24 hours.

 

Please can someone have a look at this as I am worried about getting another nuisance call. The last one I got phoned twice the same day and got very insistent that I press 1.

I've changed the state of Voicemail and Call Protect to active and manually placed an order with Openreach.

The call features should start working within an hour.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.
