Call Protect - If I enable, can I then disable?

I can see how to enable Call Protect in the Home Phone Control Panel but from the example of other things I have enabled, once enabled it doesn't seem to be possible to disable. Is that true? The screen seems to change from an empty checkbox where you can switch it on to an inert green "on" marker.

Thanks Lauren - I didn't want to try it, find it was more effort than simply hanging up on the junk calls, and be unable to remove it!
