Bursts of noise on landline, can the line be checked

I don't know if staff still pick up on faults when raised on here
but if you do could you please do a line check on my landline phone.

We don't use the landline very often just for incoming calls and lately
we have complaints from callers that there are bursts of noise on the line
which cause the call to drop out.

So if possible could someone do a line check, we have already done a
'quiet line check' and there are bursts of noise but very intermittent

No hurry, just if someone has time, then if there is a fault I will
report it through the standard faults pages on the website.

Our broadband (FTTC) is fine and still working at maximum speed of 80/20
so nothing to do on that front.

We're sorry to hear of this issue.

I've tested the line and have located a possible line card fault at the exchange. I've now raised the issue to Openreach who advise us that their estimated response time is by 23:59 on 25/10/19.

Please let us know if you need any further assistance in the meantime.

I will let you know in due course if Openreach fix it, possibly over the weekend.

OK, after being bombarded with text messages from Openreach this morning, do their automated system like to keep you up-to-date, yes and yes lol.

So I finally get a call from the engineer to say the card was replaced yesterday but they had not marked the problem as completed, was everything OK?

His call to me from a mobile seemed fine so we can class the problem as fixed unless I find otherwise.
