I keep on getting mailings from BT trying to persuade me to change back to their phone service.
The one today is a mock "Contacts phone book
"All your calls to UK Landlines at any time, for just £4.95 a month....."
Then in small print at the bottom + £11.25 line rental a month. so really £16.20
Is there any way to stop this junk mail, I'm already signed up to the mailing preference service.

BT really are shockers for abusing the rules.
My phone is still with BT. I had agreed to take marketing emails - I expected that from a 'reputable' company like BT they would be for phone related services (and probably include Broadband as they are a telecommunications company).
However I was not amused to get more than one email for a BT credit card.
I tried to find out how to opt out of all emails except those for the service I take from the company - you can't.
I've now opted out of all their marketing emails.

We still get the 'come back' stuff by post after well over a year since moving to PN for our phone line, in my husband's name as his was the name on the account, whereas our PN account is in my name. Also I get emails, presumably because of the BT shop!

Thanks James -
I would have thought that as effectively I am with BT - via PN it could be stopped.
But then again I suppose it's BT retail !
I was last with BT for phone about 8 years ago - I moved first to Cable and Wireless, and then to Onetel.

Phone their sales (freefone number) ask them to check your details, then tell them to stop sending anything, remove you from the list, tell them you are MPS registered. If they send any more phone them again and tell them if it happens again you will report them.
